Offensively, the comets were led by Madison Smith, who had season high 10 kills in the match. Larissa Huffman contributed 3 kills, while Maya Robertson, Carla Blake, and Postula each chipped in 1. Postula would also end with 8 assists on the night.
Defensively, Mackinaw City looked to Huffman and Smith, which had 5 and 6 digs respectively.
It took us a bit to get settled in during the first set, but we eventually found a way to end up on top heading into set 2. Once the girls found their ground defensively, we were able to get a lot of swings and turn those into points. I’m extremely proud of the girls for digging deep and being so versatile over the last week; it says a lot about their character and determination.
Mackinaw City moves to 6-3 on the season, and will face conference foe Harbor Light Christian in a home matchup on Tuesday.
