Comets News · Hall of Fame Class of 2019!

We are pleased to announce the Mackinaw City Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2019 in two former standout student-athletes: Leo Terrian and Julie Schneider. Leo and Julie are members of the 4th class to be entered, and will be the 9th and 10th members following their induction this Winter. Below you will find a very brief bio on each inductee, as well as information on the dinner and induction ceremony:

Leo Terrian – Athlete    Class of 1957

Leo Terrian is a 1957 graduate of Mackinaw City High School who has long been known as a former Comet standout on both the gridiron as a football player and the court as a basketball player. On the football field, Leo was an all conference selection as both a halfback and a linebacker. On the court, Leo starred on and was a member of some dominant teams under Hall of Fame coach Francis McMahon.

Julie Schneider – Athlete   Class of 1987

Julie Schneider was our Valedictorian and Class President in the MCHS Class of 1987. A two-sport standout in both basketball and softball, Julie is considered one of the top female athletes to ever walk the halls of MCPS, as well as serving as an excellent role-model to her peers. Following her career, the MCPS Board of Education recognized her accomplishments formally. Julie scored 1131 career points in basketball, one of only 4 girls to do so. She was also named MVP was both a junior and senior and earned all conference recognition all four years and All State Honorable Mention by the Detroit Free Press as a senior. Julie was also an all conference and all district catcher on the softball team.
